Bill Hughes

Background

Bill grew up in Winchester, Virginia and came to live in Indiana because of a few job relocations. He has been married to his wife Linda for 31 years and they have one daughter. Bill currently works for Earthbound RV-a company he helped form.

Time Volunteering

He started his volunteer career at LoveWay in September 2009.

Why he Began to Volunteer

Bill says he used to pass by our facility at least 2 times per day and saw our sign requesting help. He knew there was a need and thought that LoveWay would be a worthy cause. He says his church also inspired him to help out since they urge their members to "serve here, serve there."

Favorite thing about LoveWay

To see the change the students make from the commons room to being on a horse in the arena is what Bill likes the best about LoveWay. He says it's a positive change that gives him a sense of reward. Bill has had a blast working with and understanding the horses the past few months as well.

Favorite Horse

Shanna would be Bill's favorite horse because of her mild personality-he says she's a "good natured lady"-with AJ being a close second.

First Memory of LoveWay

Bill was very impressed with the positive attitude of everyone at the organization when he first started helping. He thought it was really great to see the volunteers' commitment, dedication, and willingness to help.

In his Spare Time

Running is one of Bill's favorite things to do. He runs marathons, 5K & 10K races. He also enjoys golfing and working outside around his house too.

Unfortunately, Bill will be moving to Marion at the end of March for work so he won't be able to help in his regular Monday night classes. We'll miss you Bill!
